About Us

 TPL is a supplemental K–12 learning center providing academic classes, tutoring, STEAM enrichment, workshops, and educational programs for homeschool, private-school, and traditionally enrolled students.

Mrs. Baker was born and raised on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. She grew up in the rural parts of the North Shore, in the hills above the famous Miracle Mile of surf spots.  A mountain girl at heart, much of her youth was spent exploring the mountain forests on horseback. 

Mrs. Baker was a product of the public school system where she was a self-identified "nerd".  She later went on to get her teaching degree in elementary education.  She taught at her local public school for 10 years, teaching grades K, 1, 4, 5, and 6.  Her favorite subjects to teach were math, science, and art.  Mrs. Baker believes that learning is best when it is fun, engaging, and hands-on! 

Even though she taught in a public school, Mrs. Baker was also a homeschool mom.  She homeschooled her son from his middle school years through graduation.  Her homeschool curriculum was primarily inquiry and project based learning. 

After moving to Idaho in 2021 with her family, Mrs. Baker began to teach online for Outschool, which services students in 183 countries worldwide.  In 2025, she added classroom teaching back to her days with a year of teaching at Jubilee, a classical Christian school in Moscow.  That was her first experience with the Classical teaching style. While she learned to appreciate literature, art, and history even more through the classical exposure, she missed math and science too much. 

In June of 2026, Mrs. Baker opened Think Play Learn Academy in Potlatch, Idaho.  This business venture was a culmination of her passions in teaching, entrepreneurship, and a love for learning.  Her heart is to humbly serve the community while inspiring children to think and learn through play. 

Above all, her commitment is to honor God in all she does.
